El Ministerio Comunidad cristiana

our ministry partners  |    mission and vision

The partnership with the Aguinaga family started in 2003 when Matt Berry met Francisco Aguinaga in San Jose, Costa Rica during a 9-month sports ministry trip with Athletes in Action (Campus Crusdade). Through many conversations regarding life, faith, ministry and family, Matt and his team decided to support Francisco and his family so that he could return to Nicaragua (and his family) and resume his prior work as a pastor and evangelist.

This relationship and friendship has grown into a church and ministry in Terrabona, Nicaragua called "El Ministerio Comunidad Cristiana Internacional". In 2006, Francisco and his ministry were able to purchase a small plot of land at the end of their village in the hopes that someday they would be able to build a church and ministry building on it. In 2010, their prayers were answered and their dreams became a reality as their ministry building had been supported and funded for the initial building stages. In 2012, the building was completed with a main sanctuary, 4 dorm rooms and 2 bathrooms.

Over that past 10 years, Fransico and his family (wife, son and 3 daughters) have been ministering through weekly church services, door-to-door evangelism in rural "pueblos", sports camps, after-school programs, weekly adult and student Bible studies, and much more! They have taken their call to ministry very seriously and do so with integrity and ferver. They truly work and serve "heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord [they] will receive the reward of the inheritance; for [they] serve the Lord Jesus Christ" (Col. 3:23-24).
